Education... in a Play Centre! Okay, we admit that the two are not usually associated with each other - but who said learning couldn't be fun? Education and learning through play, are built into the very fabric (literally!) of the TimeTwisters Play Centre.

Themeing: TimeTwisters is extensively themed on Ancient Egypt - a period that not only fires kids imaginations, but is also a part of the school curriculum. From the moment you walk through the front door you'll know you have arrived somewhere completely different. There are many columns, carved gods, wall reliefs and we even have our own "temple pylon" similar to those at the entrance of many famous Ancient Egyptian Temple sites such as Karnak and Philea. This themeing creates an interesting and stimulating environment for both parents and children and provides the perfect backdrop for group educational outings.

Education: However, the educational focus at TimeTwisters is not just about making the centre look interesting. We have designed educational floor pads into the play structure itself - each containing a hieroglyph and its English translation, an Egyptian god and its name, another Egyptian related item and what it is, and a number (such as the example on the right). These give a wealth of educational and learning through play possibilities. We are also producing activities such as Ancient Egyptian word searches, crosswords and other puzzles to help stimulate everyone’s learning.
